Event DescriptionDo you have an idea for a product or service that is unique, yet have not had the time or know how to bring it to a business concept or plan stage? Or do you have a business, but need some guidance on how to plan to take it to the next level? Come to the March 14th Power Lunch and learn what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
Jill K. Holliday, Instructional Specialist for Hospitality, Tourism and Entrepreneurship for New River Community and Technical College will be presenting for the Chamber’s March 14 Power Lunch. Jill’s philosophy is similar to that of Harry Firestone, founder of Firestone Tire & Rubber Company: “Capital isn’t so important in business. Experience isn’t so important. You can get both these things. What is important are ideas. If you have ideas, you have the main asset you need, and then there isn’t any limit to what you can do with your business and your life.” So Jill assures, “Anyone with an idea should come to this mini workshop and we will try to fill in the gaps”.
Jill joined the New River Community and Technical College last spring after being the principal for a financial planning firm in Raleigh, North Carolina. She speaks with personal perspective as the owner of a business consulting firm, Redden Business Solutions. She was also an instructorin business creation for the Women’s Business Center of the North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development. Jill has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies for Business Communication and a Masters in Assessment and Measurement . She also serves on the Beckley-Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee, the WV Chamber Tourism Committee and the Alderson Green Team.
